Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the CheckoutOS Shopify app, operated by CommercePilot ("we", "us"). By installing the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, uninstall the App.

1. The service

CheckoutOS is a Shopify app that lets merchants configure checkout blocks, payment and delivery rules, automatic discounts, checkout validation, post-purchase offers, order-status blocks, checkout branding and related analytics. Features available to you depend on your plan and on your Shopify platform plan.

Some capabilities — checkout-page UI blocks and checkout branding — require Shopify Plus. That restriction is imposed by Shopify's platform, not by us, and we cannot lift it.

2. Your account and responsibilities

  • You must have a Shopify store and the authority to install apps on it.
  • You are responsible for the rules and content you configure, including any discount, restriction or claim shown to your customers.
  • You must not use the App to break the law, to mislead customers, or to violate Shopify's own terms and policies.
  • You must not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or circumvent the App's plan limits.

3. Plans, trials and billing

  • Every new install receives a 15-day full-access trial. There is no permanent free tier.
  • After the trial, a paid plan — Starter ($9.99/mo), Growth ($19.99/mo) or Pro ($29.99/mo), in USD — is required to keep checkout features live.
  • All charges are processed by Shopify Billing and appear on your Shopify invoice. We never handle your card details.
  • Development stores have full access at no charge.
  • Plan limits (numbers of functions and blocks) are described on our pricing page and enforced in the App.

If your plan lapses

If you have no active plan after the trial, the App enters a locked state: your configuration is preserved and backed up, but live checkout features are disabled. Reactivating a plan restores them. We do not delete your configuration for non-payment alone.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the App or changing your plan; billing stops at the end of the current cycle in accordance with Shopify's billing rules. Because charges are handled by Shopify, refund requests are subject to Shopify's policies — contact us and we will help where we can.

4. Price changes

We may change plan pricing. If we do, we will give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice before the new price applies to them. Shopify will ask you to approve any increased charge before it takes effect.

5. Availability

We work to keep the App available and performant, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages (including Shopify's own) and factors outside our control can cause downtime. Rule engines run as Shopify Functions inside Shopify's infrastructure, so many features continue operating even if our admin interface is briefly unavailable.

6. Your data

Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You retain ownership of your store data and your configuration. We claim no rights over your products, customers or orders.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its source code, design and documentation remain our property. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App on stores you control, for as long as your plan is active.

"Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc. CommercePilot and CheckoutOS are independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Shopify Inc.

8. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will meet your requirements, or that any specific increase in revenue or conversion will result from using it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost sales or lost data, arising from your use of the App.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App, from content or rules you configure, or from your breach of these terms or of applicable law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if your use threatens the security or stability of the service, or if required by law. Where practical we will give notice first.

On uninstall, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the revised terms.
